Systems Improvement Committee

Engagement across systems

The Systems Improvement Committee advises and makes recommendations to the Austin/Travis County Homelessness Response System Leadership Council. Meetings are open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend to share subject matter and/or lived expertise. The committee’s voting members include people with lived experience of homelessness, equity advocates, direct service provider staff, and other advocates working to end homelessness in our community.

This committee meets monthly on the third Friday.

Purpose & Responsibilities

  • Purpose

The Homelessness Response System (HRS) understands that ending homelessness requires robust support services and true collaboration between complex systems. This committee will work to evaluate the effect that other systems (e.g., education, child welfare, healthcare, mental health, criminal justice, transportation, environmental, etc.) have on the HRS and develop strategies to actively engage those systems in ending homelessness in our community.

Specific priorities are updated yearly in the Leadership Council Roadmap.

  • Workgroups

Workgroups will be created by committees as necessary to achieve the committee’s Roadmap priorities. They will be tasked to discuss and provide recommendations to the committees for decisions.
