Crisis Response Committee
Creating dignified options for daily needs
The Crisis Response Committee advises and makes recommendations to the Austin/Travis County Homelessness Response System Leadership Council. Meetings are virtual and open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend to share subject matter and/or lived expertise. The committee’s voting members include people with lived experience of homelessness, equity advocates, direct service provider staff, and other advocates working to end homelessness in our community.
This committee meets monthly on the fourth Monday.
Purpose & Responsibilities
The Homelessness Response System (HRS) will ensure people experiencing homelessness are provided dignified options to meet their daily needs, including referring households experiencing homelessness to permanent housing service provider, shelter, diversion, outreach, and navigation, as well as services, such as harm reduction, health care, mainstream benefits & community-based supports, and behavioral health.
Specific priorities are updated yearly in the Leadership Council Roadmap.
Workgroups will be created by committees as necessary to achieve the committee’s Roadmap priorities. They will be tasked to discuss and provide recommendations to the committees for decisions.
