The Continuum of Care Work Group meets every other week, and as necessary in order to facilitate the development of Austin/Travis County’s HUD Continuum of Care application The Data Committee is tasked with assessing the community's homeless related data.
a) Count & Survey Subcommittee Co-Chairs, David Gomez (ATCIC) & Rick Rivera (Salvation Army)
The Count & Survey Sub-committee meets as necessary, and is responsible for the planning and execution of the HUD mandated point in time count process. b) HMIS Subcommittee Chair, Daniel Gore (THN) The HMIS User Group Sub-committee meets on even numbered months to collaborate, oversee, and improve the collection, analysis, and reporting of Homeless Management Information System data. Housing Work Group - Co-Chairs, Jo Kathryn Quinn (Caritas of Austin) & Darla Gay (Travis County DA's Office)
The Housing Work Group meets monthly and coordinates services for the homelessness population. The work group develops strategies regarding income support, job access, living wages, and housing with supportive services. Members promote the collaboration with and involvement of different public entities, including hospitals, correctional institutions, mental health institutions, and foster care agencies.

Education & Outreach Work Group - Chair, Meghann Ziler (Trinity Center)
The Education & Outreach Work Group meets as necessary in order to facilitate the annual Homeless Resource Fair, formerly “Stand Down,” and Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. The services and resources offered at the annual HRF event include assistance with job procurement, veterans benefit information, training program information, showers, haircuts, meals, drinking water, clothing, sleeping bags, supplying hygiene care kits, reading glasses, medical examinations, immunizations, legal advice, identification cards for participants, and referrals to various supportive services. ECHO Membership ECHO membership meets annually. The mission of the Ending Community Homelessness Coalition is to provide a guide to our community for planning, prioritizing, and developing strategies to end chronic homelessness. The overall role of the ECHO is to identify specific strategies and to oversee ongoing planning and implementation of the Community Plan to End Homelessness. Board of Directors - President, Ed McHorse The Board of Directors meets monthly. The mission of the board as the governing body of ECHO is to assist community policymakers, providers of services, those with community resources, and the homeless in determining and addressing the needs of the homeless in Austin and Travis County. The goal is to maximize services and resources through the development of effective strategies for coordination and implementation of services. In its advocacy capacity, the committee designates representatives to meet with City Council Members, speak before City Council, the Travis County Commissioner’s Court, and other groups as required or requested. The Membership Council - Chair, Sherri Fleming (Travis County Health & Human Services & Veterans Services) The Membership Council is elected by the membership, meets quarterly, and provides overall direction, vision, and developmental support to the work groups. |
