Seeking Comments on Draft Action Plan to End Homelessness by January 22, 2018

The Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO) is reaching out to all stakeholders interested in ending homelessness in Austin and Travis County to review and comment on the “Draft Action Plan to End Homelessness in Austin/Travis County, Texas.” To provide feedback please email your comments to Mariana Salazar at marianasalazar@austinecho.org or contact her at (512) 655-9616. The deadline to provide comments is Monday, January 22, 2018. ECHO has published several draft versions of the Action Plan and is now seeking final comments to inform the final draft that ECHO is scheduled to present to Austin City Council at a work session in mid-February in 2018.

Background:

In February 2017, Mayor Steve Adler and Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo partnered with ECHO to convene stakeholders to come up with concrete strategies to end homelessness. ECHO convened several meetings in the spring of 2017 where over 50 different organizations participated sharing their ideas.  The ECHO Membership Council approved the latest version of the draft plan.

In addition to drafting a broad plan to end homelessness in Austin, ECHO is pleased to announce the completion of its Coordinated Plan to Prevent and End Youth Homelessness as part of its participation in the national Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program. ECHO is also excited to begin to work with stakeholders to develop a plan to end family homelessness.

We thank everyone interested and actively working to end homelessness in our community and invite everyone to visit our “Get Involved” section of our ECHO website for opportunities to be connected. We also invite you to visit the “ECHO Reports” section for updated plans and reports.
